“ I'm so glad we found Filo's on our trip to Winchester! The food is beyond excellent. During our stay, we dined here on three different occasions, twice for dinner and once for lunch. The quality of ingredients here shines in the taste of the food. We tried the filet, filet and shrimp, parmesean crusted steak, crab cakes, fish and chips, calamari, pork chop, creme brulee, and carrot cake. The house made ranch is the BEST I've ever tasted. Don't be afraid to try something new here. It will not disappoint. Service is beyond exceptional! Our first evening, Missy was our server, and she was amazing. I appreciated her attention to our tastes and her taking the time to explain the restaurant and background to us. The following two visits, service was just as wonderful. I also appreciated how other servers and staff would ensure drinks stayed full and plates left your table when they were empty. We will definitely stop here again if we're in the area!! ”

“ We visited Filo's Tavern when we were in town for Spring Break. The ambience was lively, the restaurant's decor was charming and the customer service was very hospitable. First we started off with some cocktails, which were the Smoked Manhattan and Prickly Pear Margarita. The presentation was great and they tasted delicious. Our favorite dishes were the Mongolian Ribeye Steak and the Filet Kabobs. The fish on the kabobs was swordfish and it was fantastic. We were seated quickly on a Tuesday evening and the both food and drinks came out even faster. ”

The specialty drinks are perfectly balanced. We enjoyed 2 amazing meals here and will be back as often as possible. If you are wondering if it is worth the drive, the answer is YES! You will not be disappointed and will be hooked! Tavern Burger, Pork Belly BLT, Alaskan Halibut, Filet Mignon you can’t go wrong!! And don’t forget the amazing apps Bang, Bang Shrimp and Roasted Cauliflower were so delicious! Can’t forget dessert! The Carrot Cake... BEST I have ever had!! ”

“ This is a great restaurant on the upper scale of food. Easy location on the square with plenty of seating. We started with the Hipster and they were great. Good portion for 8. Our entree’s included the prime rib sandwich, surf and turf, and the Lynchburg whiskey shrimp. Good portion on each and the taste was excellent. Only improvement I could suggest is two more shrimp for the price. Surf and turf included the 8oz filet and a crab cake with whiskey sauce. Finished with a strawberry cheesecake which was slightly over cooked and priced at 15. Outstanding all around and the trip from East Huntsville was about 45 minutes. We will be back. ”

“ Residents in Winchester are truly blessed to have such an exquisite place to dine here at Filo’s. The menu represents a lot of what J Alexander’s restaurant serves, as the chef was a former employee of the chain. I was very impressed with the friendliness of the staff. Our waitress was a conversationalist, kind, and helpful. The menu has something for everyone, but I went with the Mongolian Ribeye. It was cooked to perfection. The quality of the meat is what stood out to me. The steak had a very nice crust, which locked in the juices. Also, their hand crafted cocktails were phenomenal. Due to their limited dining area, they only accept reservations for parties of 8 or more. I have had great experiences here and would recommend this to anyone in the 931 area. ”

“ I’m in town visiting a friend and she suggested meeting up at Filo’s Tavern for lunch. I ordered the Caesar salad with fried chicken strips . My sister ordered the prime rib French dip and my friend ordered the sword fish sandwich. Everything was delicious and that feels like an understatement. It was definitely the best salad I’ve ever had. Everyone at the table was very happy with the food, service and atmosphere. This restaurant is above and beyond any restaurant I’ve ever been to. They should be famous worldwide! I didn’t think to get photos of our dishes before we ate, but I did snap shots of the restaurant. Thank you for the wonderful experience. Everyone needs to enjoy this place! ”

“ The place hit the spot perfectly. We drove down from Sewanee and walked in around 8. There were still people there but plenty of open tables so we were seated right away. The place was clean and nice. I liked the high ceilings and all the wood. The big mirrors in frames looked great. The bar had two TVs so plan accordingly to whether or not you want to be near them. Sitting towards the back we were happily away from them and could neither see nor hear them. They also had a great soundtrack going. The woman who served us was supper nice and we couldn’t have asked for better service. We really like all three dishes we got and had a little bit left over to take home. We didn’t get dessert but we saw a couple go by and I think 4 people could comfortably share one of the things we saw. Going back. ”

“ Absolutely Stunning!! The food was amazing, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere was amazing! Iv been to restaurants across the country from Seattle, to New York, to The coast line. This food definitely is very much a contender for one of the best restaurants Iv ever been to. We tried the Maui Maui with their special for the night butternut squash topped with brown sugar and it was amazing! We also tried their Mongolian Ribeye and it was so so tender and delicious. One of the best steaks Iv ever had. To end the night our group shared a Dark chocolate brownie Al La mode and a night special BlackBerry Cheesecake topped with their homemade in house whipped cream! This was so much more amazing than expected. We had heard mixed reviews, but anything negative we heard was proven wrong so fast. This place is an absolute must try. Alittle on the pricey side, however, well well worth it! The server was very informative and attentive. Offering multiple recommendations and his recommendations were spot on!
